The Hidden Agenda Of Wisetoast

What is a WISEOASTER? Simply put, it is a diet that you stick to but only for one week. Yes, it is very similar to the week-long dieting many people engage in. And yes, once you do this, you will need to be disciplined about your food intake. This diet has been known to cause some serious discomforts in those who have tried it. So what exactly is a WISEOASTER?

It is said that when you eat only one type of food for seven days, you are not really eating that certain food. Rather, you are consuming foods that you normally wouldn't normally eat during the week. It is also said that you won't be digesting all the nutrients in the foods. So how is a WISEOASTER supposed to work?

To begin, you will want to make sure that you stay away from the foods that are high in fat and cholesterol. You also want to stay away from the foods that contain refined sugar and starch. These types of foods will create the bulk of your weight loss, which is why you want to trim them out of your diet as much as possible while still including some carbs that your body can benefit from.

On this one day-to-day basis, you will simply eat fruits and vegetables that are rich in water content. This water will help flush your system of these harmful elements. As a result, your body will have an easier time digesting and absorbing these foods. So go ahead and get rid of everything that is high in fat, such as oil, butter and sugar.

The next step is to include lots of vegetables and fruits. Eat plenty of salads as well as fresh fruit and vegetable slices. You will want to stay away from fried foods. Instead, have your rice and pasta on the heavier side. If you are feeling particularly adventurous, why not toss in a protein shake or two from the powder in your bag, too?

For the next two or three days, you will want to increase your water intake dramatically. Since you cut out most carbohydrates on your first day, you will want to replace those items with more water-soaked foods, such as leaves, spinach and cucumbers. Try serving a salad with steamed broccoli sprouts, or having some chopped, canned beets with some raw spinach on the side. In fact, vegetables are so important that you should also include fruit in this step, at least six small servings a day.

Now that your body is staying away from most carbohydrates, it's time to move on to protein. While protein is good for you, there are certain types of protein that are better than others. So if you are replacing carbohydrates for protein, look for those high-protein choices. You may want to choose chicken, fish or beef over pork and bacon, which are higher in fat and lower in protein. You may want to avoid red meat, unless you are willing to eat some animal fat, too.

You will want to reduce your salt intake to normal levels by this point, too. While salt is an essential part of many dishes, too much salt can make certain dishes taste bland or worse than they normally would. Stick with seasonings like garlic, chives and thyme, and try to use more fresh herbs and spices. Finally, you will want to drink plenty of water, about a quart a day on average. Water is very important for the health of your organs, and your skin, too.

As you progress through your diet, keep in mind that water is essential to the function of your cells and body systems. Your cells are composed primarily of water, so keeping your body's cells well-hydrated is key. As you progress through your diet, slowly add more foods that are low in carbs, such as vegetables and fruits. As you add more foods that are high in carbs, you will find that your body will work harder to burn off the excess. This means that it will take less energy to move through your day-to-day activities.

Another thing to remember: When you replace carbohydrates with higher calorie foods, your body will use up more of its glycogen storage system to hold onto the extra glucose. Glycogen is a combination of glucose and fatty acids. Eating more vegetables and fruits means that you will be getting more fiber, too, along with many other vitamins and nutrients that you won't be getting as many carbohydrates. When you replace carbohydrates with high-calorie foods, you'll be putting at risk your long-term health by depriving your body of the most important fuel source. You might see some immediate weight loss, but that weight will return as soon as you start consuming regular food again.

For all of these reasons, the “Wisetoast Diet” makes perfect sense for anyone who wants to lose weight, feel better, and live a healthier lifestyle. While it doesn't offer a quick fix or instant gratification like many diets do, it does work. If you follow the eating plan strictly from the book, you should be able to lose about two pounds a week, depending on how much water you drink. It may not be a diet for everyone, but if you're looking for a healthy way to drop a few pounds without starving yourself, the “Wisetoast Diet” could be for you.
