Simple Abstract Art

Have you ever tried to make a simple abstract art? What if you could learn to combine simple abstract art with some other types of art forms? Abstract art has many different forms that can be created easily using different creative mediums. You can try various paint mediums like acrylic paints, oils, seed oils, and even different synthetic mediums in the modern commercial art products available today. This type of art also allows you to experiment with different techniques.

There is much fun that can be had creating simple abstract art. Why not make a collage of some of your favorite pictures? Or, if you are feeling a little less adventurous, try oil pastels. Creating this type of artwork allows you to experiment with many different media and mediums.

Oil pastels can get started very simply. They are so easy to use for beginners, that even those who have little or no painting experience start to paint with oils very quickly. The first thing you need to do when you decide to create simple abstract art is to get started with a good solid base. This means getting a good base board that has some oil paints on it, a canvas that you will paint on with thinned down oil paints, a palette to keep track of your colors, brushes for applying the paints to the canvas, etc.

When you get started, you will need to take a look at your supplies and see if you have the right tools. For starters, you will need to get a brush and paper to draw on your canvas. If you don't have any blank canvas, then I suggest that you buy one from your local art store. You should pick up a few brushes, but try to choose simple ones with just a couple of different sizes.

Next, you need to find a good place for your new artwork. My suggestion is to hang it up on your wall. A good place is to put it on a piece of cardboard that has a flat bottom. Hanging your canvas with something like a collage board will make it look more interesting and will also add dimension to your wall art. One other option is to frame your canvas with a piece of wood, but I prefer the texture and look of a watercolor or oil painting on my canvas.

To create your first abstract artwork, you should collect your supplies. First you should pick up a full set of acrylic art brushes, including a large assortment of round and oval acrylic brushes, small sponge, and basic coordinating brushes such as bristle and soft felt tip. If you want, you could also pick up a bag of paints and an artist's tape. If you don't want to buy these things, you can always make your own mix of acrylic paints and brushes by mixing equal parts acrylic paint and watercolor paints. After you have your supplies, let's get started.

You need to purchase your acrylics, brushes, and watercolors. If you're not sure what color to buy, I would suggest going to a craft store and trying on a few different colors of acrylics so you'll know what colors go well together. If you're going to do your entire canvas in acrylics, you will also need a canvas that is big enough (at least 18 inches by 24 inches) and has at least one corner that is tri-colored. You can purchase a tri-colored canvas at most craft stores. The only other thing you will need to purchase is some transfer paper for cutting your pictures. A fine art pencil will be needed for cutting out your patterns.

Now let's do some actual painting. Start by applying a medium that has a matte finish. Such as a paper towel or a soft terry cloth, just so you don't have any streaks when you rub your brush on the painting. You should always start with a clean canvas since the last thing you want to do is ruin all of your hard work. Apply a very light layer of paint and let it dry for a few minutes so you can work on the next layers.
