This painting tutorial waterfall…This painting tutorial waterfall… is a work of art I did on a recent project. The project was a portfolio I did for my business partner. The portfolio consisted of eight works of art that span four different media including oil, acrylic, watercolors, and digital. To complete this project I needed to modify each of the four media and add some text to the final piece.

This painting tutorial waterfall… was created in Adobe Photoshop. I started with a clean canvas but before I could do much with it I had to add some finishing touches. I first resized the canvas to fit the dimensions of the final image. Then I added the waterfall effect by using a black brush effect and filling the background of the artwork with multiple colors. The final step was to add the text to make it look like a journal or note book.

In this painting tutorial waterfall paintings easy… I used several different tools to create the effects I wanted. First I started with a fine brush to round out the sides of the water. Then I added some text to the top of the water. I experimented with the sizes of the letters but kept them within a reasonable size so they didn't look like part of the water.

I then used an airbrush to create a design on the water. The airbrush tool makes it possible to paint on large areas quickly and then evens out the brush strokes. Then I added a light frame to the water with a dark gray color and filled it with some black.

This painting tutorial waterfall paintings easy… uses acrylic medium to paint on the water. First I washed the canvas with a bristle brush to remove all of the dust from it. Then I rubbed the surface of the water using my fingers. I made sure to rub in a circular motion to avoid ragging the canvas.

Next I wet my hands with some water and used the airbrush to create swirling action on the water. The color was still not precise but I was getting somewhere. I then applied a coat of black paint. I used it sparingly as I was still learning. Then I repeated the same procedure on the other side of the canvas, rubbing in more strokes with my fingers.

I added some more brush strokes to bring more depth to the waterfall. I also blended in some elements of the sky such as clouds and stars. This created a more 3-dimensional look to the water. I let it dry and then added some more color to make it look like the sky had come alive. It was exciting to create such a realistic waterfall that looked as if the water had actually grown.
