It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been listed on the World Heritage List. The hotel was designed by influential architect Louis Sullivan; it was meant to be a simple yet elegant hotel with a simple yet luxurious decor. The original design for the Hotel Jerome included a single storey wing with a penthouse on the first floor.

The original architecture and layout was done in such a way that it created a feeling of regal grandeur and sophistication. Today the hotel features two-story open-air elevators and a grand lobby fireplace. A popular feature of this historical hotel is the ballroom, which can be enjoyed by guests in its two stories.

At night the ballroom becomes an elegant and romantic gathering place where weddings and receptions are common. Many happy couples who have been to the Hotel Jerome and enjoyed the comfortable, quiet years spent there have referred to it as a wedding retreat.

The hotel's dining options range from casual American cuisine to European cuisine. Guests have an extensive selection of restaurants to choose from throughout the hotel. Top restaurant selections include La Caffeine de Paris, The Lanes, and Charcoal Grill. There are also a few casual dining locations including Bobcat and Bill's BBQ. The hotel's pool area, featuring a beach bar and outdoor patio dining, is another hotspot for Aspen visitors.

The hotel features two guest rooms which are classic in design and appearance. The Original Appearance Grand Ballroom is on the top floor and has an original appearance with its high ceilings, marble walls, and brass tiled floors.

The contemporary Federal Way furnished room is modern in appearance and features a leather living room. Both guest rooms, like the original appearance, offer high ceilings and luxurious furnishings. Each room offers its own terrace or balcony that overlooks downtown aspen.

Located on the second floor of the hotel, the St. unavoidable is designed with the same majestic quality of the Original Appearance Grand Ballroom. The front face is brick and the interiors are granite. The front foyer has marble columns and is decorated with an original painting of a mountain landscape.

The hotel features a grand ballroom fireplace and expansive windows overlooking downtown Aspen. Both the Original Appearance and St. unavoidable are near downtown Aspen so guests can easily access all of the attractions.

The hotel was built during the mid-eteenth through the early twentieth century by a family that had originally settled in Mexico. The son of the owner's wife kept his family heritage alive by starting a boarding school in 1875 and then opening two other schools in subsequent years.

The students graduated in all four of those years and many made the United States their home. The families were largely European in background and the school was especially known for the quality of education it provided to its students.

The hotel was designed around two main focal points – a j-bar which is a short bar with an outdoor kitchen, and the hotel's main foyer, which sits on top of a sandstone column. Beyond these two focal points, the hotel features many comfortable guest rooms, a fitness room, a spa, a restaurant, a lounge, and a wet bar. The hotel offers many popular packages including special honeymoons and anniversary packages.

The St. Augustine sits proudly on top of Aspen Mountain and overlooks the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The hotel features an on-site restaurant called “The Roaring Fork,” which serves lunch and dinner on weekdays and offers weekend brunch as well. In addition to the terrific meals, The Roaring Fork also offers an enchanting outdoor bar, a cozy fire pit, and a spacious library. The hotel is also home to a spectacular hiking trail and picnic area that visitors are welcome to utilize.
